Description
Silver pie server, Geneva, 1792, François Jacques Magnin. This openwork pie server features a symmetrical decoration of scrolls forming a palmette.
The master silversmith’s hallmark is struck twice at the end of the server.
Engraved on the reverse are the initials J. L.
François Marc Magnin, born in Geneva in 1762, was admitted as a master silversmith in 1792, presenting as his masterpiece a goblet from the ‘arquebuse’ exercise.
