Description
An engraved round pewter dish made in Abbeville (Somme, France) in 1782. This dish has engraved decoration a tree with stylized leaves and flowers at the top of which is perched a bird. The bird’s wing is decorated with stylized flowering branches. The back of the dish bears the hallmark of “Guerlain-Dairaines in Abbeville” ; the Dairaines’s Pierre-Honoré Nicolas signature (deceased before 1797) a merchant and pewtersmith.
