Description
A niello gilt-silver round box, made in Moscou circa 1780. The lid presents a medal with the Russian imperial couple with Paul I Petrovitch (1759-1801) and the great duchess Maria Feodorovna, born Sophie Dorothea of Wurtemberg (1759-1828). The medal is signed « J.G.JAEGER » for Johann Caspar Gottlieb Jaeger, active in Saint Petersburg between 1772 and 1791.
