Jean-Nicolas Karth

A watercolour on paper presenting a Swiss landscape, signed and dated «NKarth 1859» for Nicolas Karth (1795-1878) in the lower right corner. Karth represents a picturesque mountain scene with in the foreground, in the bottom left, a shepherd with goats. Further, some housings are painted. The background and the high part of the painting are dedicated to the mountains, probably Alpes, and an almost clear sky, maybe during the dawn.
