An oil painting on a wooden panel, representing a female portrait. This young ginger woman is staring into the void, towards the ground, and is enlightened from the left side. The clear tones of her skin are strongly contrasting with the dark background, and her eyes as well as her clothing, both blue, are underlining it even more. The subject of this painting recalls the paintings of Jean-Jacques Henner (1825-1905), who painted a lot of ginger women. The painting is signed in the upper right corner “H. Umbricht” for Honoré Umbricht (1860-1943).
