Description

There is a woman sitting in front of the spectator wearing a traditional costume for the Quadrille, a Parisian dance of the early 18th century. The woman is wearing a long red skirt with a white petticoat and also black tights matching her shoes. Her hair is decorated with a white headdress. She looks tired with her relaxed position and her face of three quarters on the left. In front of her, there is a desk with a mirror in which a bouquet of flowers reflects next to it.

The fast, colorful and thick touch contrasts with the static pose of the young woman, who is probably waiting for the next dance.
