A miniature painting depicting a portrait of the royal family of Louis XVI, made circa 1780-1790. King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette are shown in profile, accompanied by portraits of of their children : Marie-Thérèse (later known as Madame Royale) and the Dauphin Louis-Charles (the future Louis XVII). The work is presented in a blackened wood and brass frame.
