Description
A Neapolitan creamware statuette, circa 1820, depicting a young woman likened to “Susanna and the two old men” or “Susanna at the baths” (Book of Daniel. chap. 13).
This statuette would have belonged to a group illustrating the biblical chapter in question.
On the base figures the counter-relief inscription “Suzanna”.
The reverse of the statuette features an intaglio mark of a crowned “N”.
