A marquetry work realized around 1950 by Paul Spindler (1906 – 1980) presenting a view of Strasbourg’s historic museum and cathedral.
Viewed from the “Pont du Corbeau”, the foreground shows strollers in front of the city’s former butcher shops. The cathedral’s spire emerges in the background, creating an atmospheric perspective evoked by the masterful craftsmanship.
The work is signed « Spindler » in the lower right-hand corner.
