Description
A fruitwood measuring stick made in Alsace in 1850. This measuring instrument consists of a handle and a wooden stick embellished with various decorative details. The front and back faces feature engraved inscriptions filled with white paint: “ODILIA. FÜRSTENBERGER. 1850” (the owner’s name) and the alphabet. The sides display two parallel lines marked with brass tacks indicating different units of measurement—centimeters on one side and inches on the other.
