Description
A marquetry piece by Paul Spindler (1906-1980) features a view of Obernai with his famous belfry in its center, also known as the “Kappelturm”. The bell towers of the Church of Saints-Peter-and-Paul stand on the right, while on the left is a fortified tower, a rare surviving remnant of the medieval ramparts. A stork flies over the village towards the Vosges mountains.
The work is signed “Spindler” in the lower right corner.
