A marquetry by Paul Spindler (1906-1980) presenting the view of the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Strasbourg above the roofs of the city. The inlay is signed ‘Spindler’ in the lower right corner. The work is completed with a brass cartel, in the center of the lower part of the frame, with the engraved dedication “Les officiers et s\/officiers (sous-officiers) du 2\u00e8me Bon(Bataillon) du 172\u00e8me R.I.F (R\u00e9giment d\u2019Infanterie Fran\u00e7aise) au Commandant Treyssac – Strasbourg 28.10.37” (“The officers and officers (non-commissioned officers) of the 2nd Good (Battalion) of the 172nd R.I.F (French Infantry Regiment) to the Commander Treyssac – Strasbourg 10.28.37”).<\/p>\n
