The lids are made of brass. One of the pots is written &#8216;TABAC DE PARIS&#8217;, with Chinese figures on either side, wearing yellow, blue and green costumes. Both are shown standing next to a palm tree, wearing an umbrella and a hat. The other pot is written &#8216;TABAC ROYAL&#8217;, and has animal figures on either side, representing monkeys with yellow and black fur. Both are depicted enjoying a piece of fruit while perched on the branch of a tree. On the upper and lower parts of both pots, there are friezes of blue and orange flowers and foliage.
